Universe Pharmaceuticals (UPC) to buy Best Praise's five-patent portfolio for $10.75M paid in stock
Universe Pharmaceuticals agreed to acquire 100% of Best Praise International, which holds five Chinese patents across age-related, neurodegenerative, cognitive, cardiovascular, antibacterial and drug-delivery technologies, for US$10,751,000 to be paid as 4,376,552 Class A ordinary shares; the deal was board-approved and is expected to close in Q3 2026 subject to customary conditions. The company says the patents complement its elderly-health focus and could enable R&D, licensing or co-development opportunities, but the acquisition is share-based (dilutive) and closing, enforceability and commercial viability of the patents are not guaranteed.
