Bullish Marubozu

A bullish marubozu is a strong green candle with little or no wick. It shows buyers controlled most of the candle from open to close.

Bullish marubozu candle with a large green body and almost no wick.

At A Glance

  • Name: Bullish Marubozu
  • Category: Momentum And Continuation Candles
  • Type: Bullish Momentum
  • Number of candles: 1 candle
  • Typical context: During an upward push, breakout, or continuation move.

How To Identify It

  • Body: Large green body from near the low to near the high.
  • Wicks: Very small or no wicks.
  • Relationship: The single candle is read by the strong close near the top of the range.

Look for a large green body with very small wicks. The candle should close near the high, showing buyers kept pressure on through the close.

Context

This candle is most useful when it appears during increasing buyer pressure or through a visible level.

Bullish marubozu candles matter most when they clear resistance, reclaim an important area, or appear early in a strong move. After a huge extension, they can also attract late chasers.

What It Shows

The candle shows steady buyer control. Sellers had little success forcing price away from the high before the close.

What To Watch Next

Watch whether price holds the upper part of the body or uses the body as support on a pullback. Strong buyer control usually leaves a level price should respect.

The read weakens if price immediately falls back through the body. That means the buyer pressure was quickly erased.

Common Confusion

Bullish marubozu is a stricter form of a strong green full body candle.

Key Takeaway

A bullish marubozu shows strong buyer control. It matters most when the body holds after the candle closes.
